These Black Men Stole the Show at the 2026 Met Gala

Now that the 2026 Met Gala has come to an end, it’s clear who understood the assignment—and who didn’t. We already gave you the trainwreck looks from the annual, invitation-only affair, but now it’s time to spotlight the Black men who delivered truly iconic ensembles. With this year’s theme, “Fashion Is Art,” these stars didn’t just dress the part—they embodied it.

From structured silhouettes and luxury tailoring to full-on painted ensembles, these Black men delivered a masterclass in range. Let’s take a look at some of the most intentional moments from this event, dubbed “fashion’s biggest night out,” and delight in the styles that stole the show.

A$AP Rocky went smooth and sophisticated in pearl pink—a not-so-subtle nod to his new chapter as a girl dad. Pretty Flacko was dapper indeed, sporting custom Chanel by Matthieu Blazy.

Was it just us, or was Jaafar Jackson still giving full-on MJ vibes? Fresh off an intense press tour for the highly-anticipated biopic “Michael,” Jaafar leaned into a look that pushed that narrative forward in a manner that wasn’t just “visually striking, but intentional,” per Vogue. Dressed head-to-toe in Polo Ralph Lauren, he channeled MJ and represented himself with effortless swag.

Miles Chamley-Watson

Miles Chamley-Watson made one of the night’s boldest statements in a fully abstract painted suit, turning the carpet into a literal canvas. The Olympic fencer leaned all the way into the “Fashion Is Art” theme, blending performance and style in KidSuper FW26.

Jeremy Pope

When Cardi B said folks don’t know the difference between vintage and archive, she wasn’t talking about Jeremy Pope. The award-winning Broadway performer sported an iconic Vivienne Westwood FW96 evening jacket, boasting a trompe l’oeil torso designed and crafted by hand and decked in pearls. The striking art piece was commissioned by Mr. Pearl, per Vivienne Westwood.

Nigerian-American content creator and style icon Wisdom Kaye showed up and showed out in a custom, upcycled ensemble by Public School founders Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, featuring a velvet cropped jacket, dual corsets and detached barrel hip pants. Strands of silver wiring added an awe-inspiring, sculptural finish to the look.

Babyface

Dripping in pearls, 13-time Grammy award-winner Babyface took cool, calm, and collected to new heights, confidently dressed in an embellished short-waisted jacket by LaQuan Smith, tailored pants and heeled boots. Satin touches and dark shades gave off a not too much, while still doing the most vibe—in the smoothest way possible.

Ephraim Sykes

Talk about heaven on Earth—Ephraim Sykes arrived on the Met carpet in an angelic all-white caped suit designed by Who Decides War, delivering a look that felt both ethereal and commanding. Draped in pearls and unapologetically bare-chested, his striking balance between softness and strength had folks’ heads on swivel, and it’s easy to see why.
