This Sad ‘Insecure’ News Has Fans and Amanda Seales Speaking Out

Believe it or not, the year 2026 marks 10 years since “Insecure” aired on HBO. But despite the big anniversary, fans will no longer get a chance to celebrate with the cast as originally planned, due to some unfortunate news. And now, viewers—and one of the cast members are speaking out about it.

As we previously told you, most of the cast—specifically Issa Rae, Jay Ellis, Natasha Rothwell, Yvonne Orji, and showrunner Prentice Penny—were all set to go on a multi-city reunion tour to commemorate the anniversary. However, Seales, who played one of the other close friends on the show, was noticeably absent from the list. At the time, her exclusion caused both her and other fans to express their thoughts on social media.

But fast forward just a few months later, and it appears all the chatter was for nothing. As explained in a tongue-in-cheek video posted to the aforementioned cast’s respective Instagram pages, they announced that the tour would no longer be happening as planned. Why? Conflicting work schedules. In the video, the task of breaking the bad news bounced from Rae to Orji to Ellis to Rothwell, who essentially explained that the cast was so booked and busy, they couldn’t pull off the highly-anticipated event.

There is one glimmer of good news, though. The tour stop set for Inglewood, CA will still take place in October, since the show was set there to begin with. But given the fact that a lot of “Insecure” fans across the country don’t live in Inglewood, it didn’t take long for them to share their disappointment over the news.

“Why is the Insecure Anniversary tour canceled fr? I’m assuming the Inglewood show will be the only show happening now. I hurt!” wrote one user on X/Twitter.

“What a creative way to disappoint people,” said another on Instagram.

One other user wrote on Instagram: “This is giving a cousins group trip and everybody backing out at the last minute. But I’m glad to hear y’all are booked and busy!”

Added another, “The only apology I’m accepting is another season.”

There were even some users who took issue with the cheeky approach, with one person penning: Congratulations on everyone being employed, but the announcement was distasteful.”

And, as you might expect, Seales also shared her two cents about the situation, opting for a petty yet purposeful response. In her Instagram video, she led with a screenshot of the news of the tour’s cancellation, saying various versions of “I know y’all not serious,” profusely. However, the comments proved to be a bait-and-switch as the rest of her video wound up being an explainer about the philanthropy work she’s doing by helping to build a secondary school in Kenya and she encouraged her fans and followers to donate.

“If you expected me not to be petty about this, you hold me to far too high of a regard,” she captioned the post.

Welp. All’s well that ends well, we suppose. Maybe now the “beef” between her and the cast will die back down for a while.
