Regarded as one of the greatest NBA players ever, Shaquille O’Neal has long been passionate about law enforcement, inspired in part by his stepfather, Phillip Harrison, a former U.S. Army sergeant and reserve officer. Over the years, O’Neal has served as a reserve officer with the Port of Los Angeles and in cities like Miami Beach, Doral, and Golden Beach, Florida, as well as a sworn deputy in Clayton County, Georgia, and Lafayette, Louisiana. In September 2026, FBI Director Kash Patel notably named NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal an honorary FBI Special Agent during the FBI National Academy’s 299th session graduation.
