This Mom’s Kids Spend 4 Hours a Day Reading and Exercising. Folks Say She’s Doing the Most!

In news that can only be described as “are we seeing the same thing?”, a Black mom is going viral for her kids’ strict summer regimen—and the Black internet is not happy. But if we’re being honest, the outrage isn’t nearly as justified as social media is making it out to be. Let’s break it down.

In the clip, an unnamed Black mother shared that during the summer, her kids must practice sports for two hours and read for two hours before they can turn on the TV. Specifically, weekday screen time is strictly limited and only allowed after 3 p.m.

Unsurprisingly, her rules didn’t land well with the internet masses, with many accusing her of being overly strict, controlling, and making her kids “miserable.”

“I feel bad for them,” said one user.

“Glad I don’t live there,” wrote another.

“This has to be satire,” one other user noted.

Another commented: “Them kids ain’t surviving.”

However, she clapped back immediately with receipts, showing off everything her kids have achieved through their structured summer routine and academic discipline. Among their accolades: making the honor roll, earning straight A’s, getting accepted into a gifted LEGO program, taking home gold medals in soccer, and more.

What’s more is that despite the naysayers, a large group of people eventually came to the mom’s defense, explaining that her actions were justified and she was raising well-rounded and successful kids.

“Poorly raised people….want everyone else to be poorly raised as well. Kudos to that mother for that,” wrote one user on X/Twitter.

“She’s a good mom … fuck that iPad and fuck that video game…they’ll be ready later in life,” said another.

One other user wrote: “She’s saving those kids in an age where technology is destroying our brains. Thank god for her!”

Added another, “This is how you raise children that do not turn out to be nuisances in the community. I totally support and agree to this method of parenting. Quite sad watching you try hard to validate the mediocres in our society.”
