The Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival is well underway, and Black stars have been making their way to the island to make the most of the last few weeks of summer by catching the best of Black cinema, attending fascinating panels, catching up with old friends and making new ones. One of Destiny’s Child’s founding members, LeToya Luckett, was spotted looking ethereal in a purple floral gown. Beside Luckett, her husband, Taleo Coles, looked handsome as ever in a loose white shirt, black pants, and a dope pair of trainers.

Camille A. Brown

Award-winning choreographer Camille A. Brown, responsible for choreographing some of the biggest shows on Broadway such as “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Gypsy,” and the upcoming “Dreamgirls” revival, was all smiles at The Cut and Cartier dinner.

DeSean Jackson

DeSean Jackson, former NFL star and head coach for the Delaware State University football team, gave a talk at the panel for his Amazon Prime documentary, “Go Deep: The DeSean Jackson Story.”

Derrick Johnson

Derrick Johnson, president and CEO of the NAACP and 2025 The Root 100 honoree, was spotted at a Men’s Brunch at Harborview. Keeping his look summertime casual, the activist looked dashing in a striped linen shirt.

Lonnie Ali

Muhammad Ali’s widow, Lonnie Ali, attended and spoke at the screening of “The Greatest,” the Amazon Prime series focusing on the life of the legendary boxer.

Domonique Foxworth

Former football superstar Domonique Foxworth was also on the island. He posed for photos in a white polo, linen trousers, and white shoes. Looking good, Mr. Foxworth!

Dr. Jamal Bryant

Pastor Jamal Bryant was also seen at the men’s brunch giving a talk to all the successful Black fellas in attendance. He looked cool in a pair of patchwork denim jeans, a white shirt, and sunglasses as he spoke on the mic.

Political commentator and TV host Joy Reid led the panel discussions for “The Greatest” series, which features Michael Ealy as Malcolm X and Hollywood newcomer Jaalen Best as the late boxer.

Marian Rogers Croak, the Black woman to thank for Zoom and FaceTime, was spreading wisdom about the tech industry as a panel member for the “Color of Conversation” AI talk.
