Michelle Obama Just Gave Megan Thee Stallion the Ultimate Cosign

Just when you thought Megan Thee Stallion had the Midas touch and was well-loved, she recently received the ultimate stamp of approval from Michelle Obama. And trust us when we tell you, the conversation is heartwarming.

The two influential women recently connected for the latest episode of the former first lady’s “IMO With Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson” podcast. During their chat, they discussed Megan’s forthcoming album, how she handles the pressures of fame and social media, her upbringing, and more. But what was perhaps the most heartwarming part of their entire discussion was when Obama told the “Right Now” rapper that she bore similarities to her youngest daughter, Sasha.

“You remind me of my youngest. Yeah, yeah. You and Sasha have similar sass levels. She [Sasha] just, she’s all up in it. But your energy is just so familiar. It’s like family,” Obama said.

Embracing the comparison, Megan recalled hanging out with Sasha moments after her “SNL” performance and her initial shock at the Secret Service presence until she realized that the younger Obama sibling was there.

“I definitely wrapped her around and made my security be all around. I was like ‘Hold on y’all, we got the president’s daughter in here,’” Megan shared with a laugh.

Prior to the Houston rapper coming out for the interview, Obama praised her for her spirit and positive energy, saying in part: “I love this woman. We only met once, but she left a deep impression on me because of her energy, her spirit. There’s a maturity and grace about her that I just don’t think a lot of people can see from her persona, but it’s there.”

The “Becoming” author went on to describe the “Number One Rule” rapper as “smart as a whip,” with Robinson agreeing and likening Megan to someone who would “immediately belong in our family” and “warm.”

Meg’s fans showed their appreciation to the former first lady and her brother for providing a warm, positive environment for the rapper on their podcast, in light of some of the harsh treatment she’s received from the media in the past.

“Thank you Michelle and Craig for your kind words and support to Megan. As a long term fan and seeing everything this woman has gone through, I so appreciate when people express genuine love to her,” wrote someone in the comments on YouTube.
