These Are the New Hollywood Heartthrobs We Can’t Get Enough Of
While actors like Idris Elba, Michael B. Jordan, and Denzel Washington may still be out here killing the game onscreen and making our hearts skip a beat, we’d be remiss if we didn’t at least mention the fact that there is a whole gang of new Hollywood heartthrobs who are currently on the come-up.
Whether you prefer our Black brothers from across the pond or are swayed by the ones here in America, Black Hollywood has no shortage of new, talented, and attractive actors who are following in the footsteps of the ones who came before them
So it’s in that vein that we present this list of the handful of rising Hollywood stars. If you see your faves on here, great! If not, don’t lose hope, there’s always next time.
Damson Idris

With Damson Idris inching closer and closer to potentially being the next Black Panther, his star power and undeniably handsome face are both things we should get used to seeing. We definitely won’t mind it, though.
Rege Jean-Page

While he established his status as a hands-down heartthrob in “Bridgerton,” it was his antics in this year’s romcom, “You, Me & Tuscany,” that left us wanting to see him in more roles like that. You hear that, Hollywood? Time’s a-wasting. Give the people what they want!
Aaron Pierre

Aaron Pierre —that’s Mufasa! Sorry, we just couldn’t help it! But can you really blame us for leaning in when this guy has acting chops out the wazoo and mesmerizing blue eyes that look like pools you could spend all day floating in? We all need regular doses of the passion and vulnerability he brings to his characters, much like the role he portrayed in “Rebel Ridge” and “Mufasa: The Lion King.”
Jeremy Pope

With the way Jeremy Pope both looks and acts whenever he has a script in his hand, it’s a shame we don’t see him as often as we should! Come on, Hollywood, you gave us “Beauty” and “The Inspection,” sure enough, but you’re seriously slacking by not having Pope in front of the masses more, and we won’t stand for it too much longer!
Lucien Laviscount

We’re sorry—did you say something? We were too busy dreaming about how we wish we could’ve switched places with Emily in “Emily in Paris” and Chloe Bailey in the upcoming film “Strung” just to be next to Lucien Laviscount for five seconds. He’s got the looks, the charm, and the chops. Where is his action film?!
Y’lan Noel

Y’lan Noel first made us side with him as Daniel on “Insecure,” but he garnered a whole new set of fans thanks to his hit heist series on Netflix, “Nemesis.” He’s suave, debonair, cunning, and looks extremely snackable in a suit. Go’head, Y’lan, we see you!
Ashley Walters

ALL HAIL “TOP BOY!” No, but seriously, it’s solely because of Ashley Walter’s fire-ass performance as Dushane Hill in the aforementioned show and his award-winning performance in “Adolescence” that makes us give him our co-sign.
Matthew Law

Both Matthew Law and Y’lan Noel have fans all over swooning over their respective roles in “Nemesis.” But if we’re honest, we’re low-key rooting for Law, our favorite, nerdy tech guy Oshonn from “Abbott Elementary,” too.
Skepta

While not necessarily a new face, UK rapper Skepta has been making women everywhere swoon with his rhymes and an insanely handsome face card. A British accent with a little street appeal? Oh, hell yes!
Tyriq Withers

Tyriq Withers has already been dubbed the internet’s boyfriend, thanks to his hilariously, chronically online personality, acting chops (looking at you “Him” and “Reminders of Him”), and his overall charming demeanor. No wonder folks all over are trying to claim him as their own!
Keith Powers

Those who remember Tumblr in its prime and the super-early days of Instagram and #InstagramHotties will remember Keith Powers. Besides being a pretty face, he’s continued to prove that he has what it takes to take Hollywood by storm. Whether he’s killing it in the biopic lane (“The New Edition Story”), the romcom lane (“The Perfect Find”), or the horror lane (“The Gates”)—Powers is clearly a man on a mission!
Tyler Lepley

(Author’s Note: While I fell in love with Tyler Lepley first as Benny Young on Tyler Perry’s “The Have & Have Nots,” I was happy to see him secure mainstream success and adoration thanks to his roles in projects like “Harlem,” “P-Valley,” and “Duplicity.” He’s talented and undoubtedly has the looks to take the industry by storm. I can’t wait to see what he does next!)
Trevante Rhodes

While Trevante Rhodes may be famously reclusive, he popped out recently to give us the ultra-sexy, ultra-melanated film “Mea Culpa,” in which he starred opposite Kelly Rowland. Hopefully, this was a sign that the “Moonlight” star would be coming back on our big and small screens more often because we truly can’t get enough of his face!
