In just a handful more days, the 2026 BET Awards will take over Los Angeles, bringing all the fun, music, swagger and fashion to the culture.
But while there will be plenty of red carpet looks that’ll sparkle and shine, there will no doubt be folks there that completely miss the mark. And it’s in anticipation of that that we thought it’d be fun to take a look back at some of the worst red carpet looks over the years at the awards show. From tacky tailoring to denim misfires, get into these fashion trainwrecks!
Pink Pantheress- BET Awards 2023
Denim boots with leopard print at a nice awards show? Yeah, we think not!
Young Dro-BET Awards 2024
Young Dro may have the bars, but he definitely didn’t have the right people around him to tell him that this look wasn’t it!
Cam Newton- BET Awards 2025
Do we really have to explain this one? Cam Newton regularly wears some questionable fits, but this one was just doing way too much, even for him!
Eve- BET Awards 2001
Once again, the denim agenda at the BET Awards must be stopped! We’re so glad Eve’s style has evolved past this because this was a wild look.

Remy, the body was gorgeous, but this dress felt like it was literally just some fabric that was thrown on you!

Kash Doll usually eats and looks super fly, but this ill-fitting dress and lackluster hair did not do her any justice!

It’s one thing to show up dressed in your favorite designer, but it’s another thing to have the logo damn-near everywhere in your fit. Soulja Boy shoulda chose better here!

Lil Mama’s outfit at the BET Awards in 2008 would’ve been perfect if it were a Strawberry Shortcake convention. But alas, it wasn’t! And we’re sadly still scratching our heads at this fashion choice!

This look on Alicia Keys looks like something a girl might’ve worn back then if she were headed to the club with her friends—not going to an awards show. Plus, this looks like every bit of a Wet Seal, Charlotte Rouse special, and with somebody of Keys’ caliber, we expected better!
Drew Sidora-BET Awards 2025
“RHOA” star Drew Sidora might’ve been trying to tap into her inner fairy with this look, but we wish she’d just fly away instead because this was not the best dress.
