Angel Reese Is Living Her Best Life—and Dominating—in Atlanta

The 2026 WNBA offseason delivered a massive blockbuster on April 6 when the Chicago Sky traded superstar Angel Reese to the Atlanta Dream for two first-round picks and a 2028 second-round pick swap. Without question, it was a stunning move, considering Reese had quickly become a two-time All-Star player and recorded 51 regular-season double-doubles in her WNBA career.

Now with the Dream, the “Bayou Barbie” has been embraced by the ATL, and she is already paying massive dividends on the court. Immediately, Reese had brought a fierce competitive spirit into Atlanta’s frontcourt, anchoring the squad with her playmaking, relentless hustle, and elite rebounding.

Since the trade occurred, Atlanta has been living the Dream with a 5-2 record, currently the best in the WNBA. Reese is averaging 12.8 points, 11.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game, cementing the Dream as a must-watch contender. Undoubtedly, the trade is helping to take Reese’s career and the Dream to another level.

Taking to Instagram. Reese shared pics and videos of herself enjoying her new teammates and her new digs in Atlanta.

In the caption, Reese made it abundantly clear that relocating to Atlanta has been a dream come true.

“Game 4 and Game 5: reasons why I ran to ATLANTA youknowwhatimsayinnnn,” Reese’s caption read.

Back in April, Reese spoke about how moving on from the Sky was the best move for her burgeoning career.

”I’m always gonna be grateful for that because I did experience a lot of great things,” Reese said per ESPN’s Kareem Copeland. “I enjoyed being able to grow within my first two years, but I wanted more. I love to win, I love to compete, and I want to be surrounded by people who can make me better.”

“And I am not satisfied with what I am as a player, and I felt like being around these kinds of players would help me be better,” she continued. “I can help them in different ways to help them win, and that’s all I ever wanted.

So far, Reese’s fit with the Dream couldn’t be going any better. Fueled by a desire to win a WNBA championship, Reese is showing that to complete her mission, she is willing to do whatever it takes. If her early chemistry with teammates Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray is any indication, the Dream haven’t just acquired a marquee superstar; they are well on their way to becoming a long-term title contender.
