After Years of Legal Drama, Nipsey Hussle’s Kids Finally Get Some Good News About His Estate

There’s finally some good news related to the years-long legal dealings regarding the late rapper Nipsey Hussle’s estate and his children.

As we previously told you, after Hussle’s 2019 death sent shockwaves throughout the music industry, his money and assets were soon embroiled in a legal dispute as he named his two young children—Emani Asghedom and Kross Ermias Asghedom—as the sole beneficiaries.

Things also got tricky as Hussle’s brother and estate executor, Blacc Sam, and Emani’s mother, Tanisha Foster, fought for years over the inheritance. Because the children were (and still are) both under 18, neither child could legally directly control or manage any money or property left to them from the $11 million estate, per California law.

As a result, Hussle’s long-time partner and actress, Lauren London, was set to receive 50 percent of the cash (about $5.6 million, according to XXL) and non-cash assets (like Hussle’s brand Marathon Clothing) on behalf of their son, Kross. The other half was going to Emani, who’s currently under the guardianship of her father’s family. But given the dispute, no funds had been disbursed.

Seven years later, it looks like Hussle’s kids are finally going to receive their payout, per TMZ. While court documents didn’t disclose how much Emani would receive, they noted that Sam and Foster had finally come to some sort of resolution in 2025, and if you crunch the numbers, her daughter should be receiving a payout of about $5.4 million. The outlet also noted that Hussle left a 2012 Chevy Suburban, multiple trademarks, and additional stock in his brand, but no further details have been publicized as to how it all was divvied up.

Still, if each child gets around $5 million, then that’s a great leg up to building generational wealth. Researchers at the Brookings Institution note that unequal inheritances are one of the key ways the racial wealth gap is passed from one generation to the next, so by Hussle making sure his kids were set up—he’s helping to close that gap for his own family. Hopefully, more Black parents will follow in his footsteps!
