Woman Sends Brutal Message to Usher’s Loyal Fans After Her Awkward Concert Appearance Goes Viral

One woman learned the hard way that being invited onstage with Usher comes with certain expectations.

During the Nashville stop of his co-headlining R&B Tour with Chris Brown, the R&B veteran selected a woman from the audience to join him for his signature serenade. As he performed “Can U Handle It,” she sat on the bed positioned onstage while the singer attempted to turn up the charm.

The only problem is she didn’t appear to be feeling it.

Her body language was noticeably stiff, and she seemed uncomfortable as Usher danced around her.

After trying to make the moment work for a few seconds, he eventually stood up and told the crowd, “I don’t think she wants to be onstage.”

The “Confession” singer then motioned for her to leave before calling for someone else to join him. 

Naturally, a clip of the awkward exchange quickly spread across social media and folks had their opinions.

The woman, identified as Gabrielle Cheyenne, later shared her side of the story on Facebook and she certainly wasn’t shy about addressing her critics.

“First off NOBODY is declining to go on stage. I looked good asf, you thought I wasn’t gonna let THOUSANDS of people see me?? On the big screen, where you bitches will never be????” she wrote.

Cheyenne explained that she and her mother initially had floor seats before the tour’s team unexpectedly upgraded them.

“PRETTY PRIVILEGES something you hoes will never know about!!,”: she continued.

Cheyenne claimed she wasn’t told which performer would be bringing her onstage, suggesting that her reaction may have been different had she known exactly what she was signing up for.

“They don’t say who you’re going up there for!! Y’all wanted me to get up there and fck him atp ?? CHATT FOLKS AREN’T USED TO ANYTHING. That’s the most exciting thing that would’ve happened in y’all little ass lives !! Fck yall, DISRESPECTFULLY.”

Whew.

If a concert team unexpectedly upgrades your seats and asks you to participate in something, it may be worth asking at least one follow-up question before agreeing.

Still, Cheyenne later explained to TMZ that she attended the show primarily to see Brown and would have reacted differently if he had been the performer serenading her.

While the tour continues generating viral moments onstage, Brown is also making headlines because of his ongoing legal troubles.

The 37-year-old singer pleaded guilty on Friday, July 24, to affray in connection with what prosecutors described as a bottle attack on producer Abraham Diaw at London’s Tape nightclub in February 2023.

Brown’s vocal coach, Omololu Akinlolu, also entered a guilty plea at London’s Southwark Crown Court.

More serious assault charges against the pair will not proceed to trial, Reuters reported.

Brown and Akinlolu admitted they “used or threatened unlawful violence towards another and their conduct taken together was such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness … to fear for their personal safety.”

Claire Campbell of the Crown Prosecution Service addressed the case in a statement.

“This was a vicious and unprovoked attack by Brown and Akinlolu in a crowded nightclub where Brown used a glass bottle as a weapon to strike the victim’s head twice,” she said.

“This kind of violence is entirely unacceptable, and the Crown Prosecution Service will work tirelessly with the police and partners across the criminal justice system to pursue cases like this, and prove that no one is above the law.”

Brown and Akinlolu are scheduled to be sentenced on October 26.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison.
