Why Tyrese’s Latest Post Has Fans Concerned for His Mental Health

Singer and actor Tyrese Gibson is no stranger to expressing his thoughts and opinions on social media. But his latest post is causing his fans to show some serious concern about his mental well-being.

For a little background, “Lately” singer been out of the spotlight since his March Verzuz battle against fellow singer Tank. Since then, however, he’s been posting several AI-looking posts to Instagram and some religious posts, with the most recent being a clip from Pastor John Gray singing and another from his visit to the California Worship Center Church.

But what got his fans worried was a since-deleted post to his page on Sunday in which he revealed he was “overwhelmed, deeply stressed and being pushed to my limits.” Explaining how he felt he’d been getting overrun with various stressors, Gibson shared that while he’s usually the one encouraging people when they’re going through tough times—this time around—he was the one in need of help.

“Everything imaginable has been hitting me from every direction-mentally, emotionally, psychologically, and financially. I have an extremely high tolerance for pain. Most of the time, I smile my way through whatever I’m carrying, whether people realize I’m hurting or not. But right now, I’m empty. I’m depleted. My soul is tired,” he said.

He continued: “I’m usually the one giving encouragement when I desperately need encouragement myself. I show up for people through their problems, marriages, financial crises, and trauma. Whatever I can possibly do, I do. I’ve always tried to be there for everybody-but right now, I need somebody to be there for me. Please take this post seriously.”

He went on to say how he put his pride aside to make the vulnerable post and ended it by asking his fans and followers to take a moment to pray for him and gave a slight word of peace to others going through similar situations.

Now, usually, given the “Fast & Furious” singer’s history of social media antics, a post like this would garner a mixed bag of reactions, with one half of folks refusing to take him seriously and the other half believing him. But this time around, it seemed like his words fell on receptive ears as folks took to the comments section to express actual concern and shared positive words.

“Praying for your strength during this difficult time in your life. Hold onto GOD’S unchanging hands,” wrote one user on Instagram.

“I pray he goes to see someone to get some help. Pray and get help. There’s no shame in it at all. I pray all will be well with him and all who feel this way because there are many who do. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless and comfort all those who need comfort, peace of mind, help, and healing,” said another.

One other user wrote: “I hope that peace finds you quickly.”

Added another, “Man, life is lifin for everyone, please let’s be kinder to one another.”
