Wendy Williams Speaks Out on Life Inside Living Facility
Though it’s been quite a while since we’ve heard anything on the Wendy Williams front, her fans and followers are finally getting a long-awaited update on just how she’s doing while living inside the assisted living facility in New York. And what she has to say might be somewhat welcome news.
If you’ll remember, the last thing we told you about the former daytime talk show host was that she allegedly failed her medical evaluations in August 2025, thus upholding her highly controversial court-appointed guardianship. Given those results and the fact that it’s hard to reach Williams while she’s there in the first place, many of her fans had been waiting on some sort of news detailing her condition and living situation.
Thankfully, we’ve finally gotten one thanks to a new interview she gave to the New York Post. In it, she expressed the limited freedom she has at the Coterie facility, the place she’s been subjected to living in since 2023, and expressed that she’s gone through “a lot of sh*t.”
“I’ve by now rested my case. It’s $25,000 a month here. There’s grass, trees, two floors, no cars around. Can’t even do the elevator to go down. It, too, is locked. I once was a connoisseur of food, and now sometimes I’ll just have meals in my room. And I don’t drink,” she told the outlet.
She went on to describe how her floor is a “locked floor” and that she’s always accompanied by a security person, leaving no room for personal space or privacy. Williams did, however, describe somewhat of a weekly routine where she can go outside a bit and interact with others. That routine consists of church on Sundays at Christian Cultural Center (with an aide right by her side, of course) and trips to the gym at least twice a week.
Interestingly enough, Williams also detailed how she’s been able to keep herself looking stylish these days, explaining how she’s had to get creative with the old wardrobe she had while working on her show. However, it still comes with a bit of a challenge.
“Understand, I did a daily TV show 14 years. This watching over me also deals with dresses. I was tall. Looking gorgeous,” Williams explained. “Now all my good stuff’s in storage. I’m just not going to have some guy follow me into storage. This means, what am I going to wear? Those days we wore long. So I cut the stuff down. I’ve now turned skirts into shorts.”
What’s more is that it’s clear Williams is still keeping up with things and trying to stay as sharp as she can, detailing how she regularly writes things down to help herself.
“What I do is I keep things in my notebook. They say it’s dementia and aphasia,” the popular personality said. “Let me tell you something else — and that is that I don’t know exactly how, what, why, but I have gone through a lot of s h* t.”
