From head-turning streetwear to coordinated friend-group fits, the Yard at our historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) has quickly become the runway this homecoming season. As Morgan State University, Texas Southern, Alabama State and more HBCUs kick off their Homecoming season this week, The Root has you covered with the most stylish looks spotted across the campuses!

Students, alumni and members of Divine Nine organizations are pulling up dressed to impress, bringing creativity, confidence and school spirit to every corner of campus. Whether repping Bethune-Cookman’s signature style, rocking Grambling State’s blue and gold or stepping out for a homecoming night on the town, these looks prove that at HBCUs, the fashion is always part of the tradition.

Southern University Ready for Gameday


Southern University showed up and showed out for game day, serving bold looks, signature school colors and head-turning fits worthy of the Jaguar pride.
