Scottie Pippen’s Son Reveals How His Parent’s Divorce Led to Bullying From Friends

It’s very rare that you hear from the children’s perspective when it comes to the divorce between two parents and the negative effect it had on them. But that’s exactly what’s being revealed by Preston Pippen, son of NBA legend Scottie Pippen, and it’s truly sad to hear.

As you well know by now, Scottie and Larsa were married in 1997 and welcomed four children together, with Preston being the second oldest. The two would later finalize their divorce in 2021 but not before Larsa made headlines in 2016 for allegedly engaging in a relationship with rapper Future while she and Scottie were separated.

And while the brunt of the social media and internet slander has been targeted towards her, Preston recently shared that he felt some of the blowback in his own personal life, too. This revelation came during a confessional as a part of Netflix’s new reality TV show, “Calabasas Confidential,” in which Preston is a new cast member. In a couple of the episodes, the young adult opened up to his friends about his mom and remarked that she was in a “weird” place.

Noting that she was “in a new relationship, per usual,” Preston then went on to express how grateful he was that he no longer had to witness or deal with his mom’s romance ups and downs so closely anymore.

“I’m glad I’m not dealing with it all so [up] close. It kind of sucks when your parents are divorced. That’s one thing, and then once they start dating, it’s another thing. If they get remarried, then it’s a bigger thing,” he said.

Later, he shared how his mom’s friendship with the Kardashian family for over a decade led to her getting more exposure and subsequently fodder for some of his friends to make fun of him.

“You would think, at that age, when you’re going to school, that it is safe and you’re dodging the drama at home. People I thought were my friends would make jokes, and there’s already so much noise in the house,” Preston explained.

To make matters worse, the young star shared that by the time the news got ahold of his mom’s alleged affair with Future—all while she was still legally married to Scottie—things at school got even more difficult.

“My parents got divorced when I was 15, and it was really tough because there was an affair. Kids at school, like my friends, would play music by a rapper that my mom was taking to at the time, and it was just sh*tty,” he said.

Now, he shared that his parents don’t speak and that their divorce is getting easier to talk about now that he’s away from him mom.
