North West Shocks Fans By Revealing How She Creates Her Signature Look … And It’s Kind of Genius
Since before she was born, folks have had a lot to say about North West, the eldest child of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Over the years, the conversations have only grown louder, thanks in large part to the teen’s fashion choices. And now, she’s addressing the criticism directly.
Her words came during a recent TikTok livestream with her mother on Thursday, where the 13-year-old took the time to clear up misconceptions about her facial piercings. If you’ll remember, North shocked her fans and followers when she popped out with a microdermal hand/finger piercing in September 2025. Over the next year, she’d debut more and more, with the most recent being two on her upper cheek and two on the bridge of her nose.
However, contrary to what people online may believe, North revealed that her piercings were all fake.
“Guys, these piercings are not real. I change them so much that you guys think it’s real,” she said.

When her mother questioned how people could think they were real given how different they look every time, North went on to share that her favorite fake piercing was the one on the bridge of her nose and that she may actually get a real one when she turns of age. But for now, her and mother will “glue” them on.
“I love a bridge. I want a bridge so bad, but if I actually pierced it—I’m not allowed to get a piercing until, like, you guys, we’ll see. But a bridge piercing, the scarring is so crazy,” North said. “It’s so crazy, but I don’t know. I might risk it when I’m older. And I really want cheeks.”
Later on on the livestream, North also took to time to push back on folks criticizing her fashion choices and those who label it (and her, by extension) demonic.
“Stop saying I’m demonic. No, I’m not. Just because I like to dress this way, don’t judge a book by its cover…I don’t know why you guys should put that with demonic because I don’t get that. You guys know I’m not on that demon stuff. I believe in Jesus. That’s how I came to show you guys I’m actually a light, not dark,” she explained.
North’s words and defense of her choices only bring to mind the unfair disadvantage of growing up as the child of two of the most famous people in the world. Plenty of teenagers have gone through their emo phases and questionable fashion choices without the world picking apart their every move, simply because they weren’t growing up under a microscope.
North may have inherited her father’s big personality and penchant for making a statement, but underneath the bold fashion choices and tough exterior is still a little girl figuring herself out. Having Kanye West’s confidence and larger-than-life persona doesn’t mean she’s any less of a kid who deserves the grace to grow.
At the end of the day, she’s still a vulnerable 13-year-old figuring out who she is. And even if she dreams of fame and performing onstage, that doesn’t make her fair game for grown adults to tear apart. What’s more, for all the think pieces about her appearance, Kardashian actually seems to be raising a pretty well-behaved kid, because North isn’t out here making headlines for getting into trouble or moving recklessly.
Quiet as it’s kept, much of this outrage seems less about North’s piercings or personal style and more about people’s feelings toward her parents. If the real issue is Kim and Kanye, then folks ought to just say that with their chests because it’s high time that people stop making their child a punching bag.
