Kardashian Claims Kanye West Is Rarely Around Their Kids in New Book

Kim Kardashian is opening up like never before and pulling the curtain back on what it’s really like to co-parent her four kids with her ex-husband, Kanye West. And what she has to say just might surprise you.

Her revelation comes as part of her newly released biography, “Citizen Kim,” written by Jonathan Van Meter. In one major part, she discussed how little Ye comes to visit their kids, North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7 (he only pops up once every few months), and how most of her contact with him comes through his new wife, Bianca Censori, or his manager.

Despite that, Kardashian tries to keep an open-door policy and often invites him over for quality time with the kids. When he doesn’t show up, she often massages the truth for her kids in order to preserve their positive opinions of him and not negatively taint their perceptions.

“It is challenging co-parenting with someone who comes by every few months, but I’m always like, ‘Oh, Dad’s traveling,’” Kim said. “I still make up stories and protect [the kids] because I want them to think their dad is the greatest. But I invite him over all the time. Do you want to come to dinner? I’ll leave the house. Come and have dinner with the kids in their house so that they can feel comfy. Sleep over for a few nights?”

The reality TV star also explained how she plans on inviting both the “Donda” rapper and Censori over to her home for the holidays this year, and that she does her hardest to “forget” all their negativity and distance for the sake of the kids.

“I will sweep everything under the rug, all the horrible things he has said about me, so that the kids can see their father,” she explained in part. “I do everything in my power to forget about all the negative things that happened. I have to be realistic.”

The silver lining in all of this, it seems, is that despite Kardashian and West not being able to see eye to eye, they’ve been able to co-parent pretty peacefully in the years following their divorce in 2022. The SKIMS founder even went so far as to say that she’s still close with his family members and encourages them to come and spend time with the kids.

“When we [Kardashian and Ye] see each other, we give each other a hug. I’m really close with his family. I welcome anyone. I tell them all, open-door policy,” she said. “Anytime you’re in town, come for dinner with us, see the kids as much as you want, take them out, come over and hang out. That’s their family. I encourage the relationship with their dad so much.”

Yet and still, while there may be little conflict in their relationship now, she still doesn’t see things improving all that much as far as their closeness. But she’s still holding out hope that one day, things will improve.

“He always seems to pick himself up…and out of something, but it does make me so sad. And I don’t think it’s going to get better. I pray it does. For my kids,” Kardashian said.
