From Offset to Okoye: Why Cardi B’s Latest Dating Rumors Are Raising Red Flags

Just as footage of rapper Cardi B and Nigerian soccer star Maduka Okoye’s cozy dinner date has the internet buzzing, the athlete’s ex has surfaced with a string of explosive allegations against him. And while they’re only allegations, the timing could serve as an early warning sign for the Grammy-winning artist.

If you missed it, Okoye’s ex, Dutch model Jelicia Westhoff, recently took to her Instagram story to blast the goalkeeper, accusing him of being unfaithful while they were together, not taking care of their child, sleeping with men and women, being abusive, and more.

“You make me look like I’m a bitter baby mother when I helped you when no one was there for you!!! I MADE YOU! No one knew who you was and instead of loving us, you beated me, cheated on me with men and women. You’re a f*cking demon who tried to destroy my life,” she wrote in part in her since-deleted post to Instagram.

She continued: “You don’t take care of your one and only son because I don’t want to be with you. I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU.”

Elsewhere in the post, she alleged that the pro athlete doesn’t call their son, explained that she was “scared” to take him to court over fear that he’d punish their child further, alleged that he cheated on her just after she gave birth to their son, and more.

But what should stand out to folks, especially real Cardi B fans, is that if these shocking and troubling allegations about Okoye are true, the “Outside” rapper could be setting herself up for another romantic failure similar to what she already experienced with her ex-husband, Offset.

We all remember the countless Twitter Spaces rants she let off, complaining about how he wasn’t doing right by her or their kids, his infidelities, and how fed up she was over his constant “harassment” both publicly and privately. She even shared that she “never hated somebody soooo much” and that she wished the worst on him.

Given that all of this is recent history and there are a few noticeable parallels between the accusations Westhoff is lobbing at Okoye and the ones Cardi lobbed at Offset, it would stand to reason that she and the soccer star getting involved any deeper with each other wouldn’t be the best move.

At the end of the day, we know these are all adults who can make their own decisions. Cardi seems to be in a better headspace and creative space since her divorce was finalized in March 2026. We’d hate to see her potentially reopen old wounds, go down the same road, and deal with the same issues with a new suitor. As for Okoye, we can only hope he clears up these allegations and finds an amicable way to move forward with the mother of his child.
