Fans Want to Know if Keyshia Cole is OK After Bizarre Houston Performance
Is Keyshia Cole OK? Fans were left concerned after what some described as a disoriented performance last weekend in Houston, sparking a frenzy across social media.
Cole performed alongside R&B singer Joe on Saturday (Oct. 24), during Texas Southern University’s homecoming in Houston. Footage from her set at Bar 5015 shows the Oakland songstress pacing the stage and seemingly struggling to get through her hit “I Should Have Cheated.” The R&B vocalist is seen gripping a white cup and singing groggily as folks on stage stared at her in what appeared to be pure shock.

If that wasn’t enough, her performance during the Majic Under the Stars concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands left fans flat-out disappointed, with many pointing out her obvious breathlessness and lack of participation. One X user said they would have “disputed this concert charge so quickly” after Cole relied on the audience to sing the majority of her hit song “Love,” while adding some awkwardly placed ad-libs.
As the vocalist continued to rely on the audience’s singing skills, this fan can be heard commenting: “I want her to hit that note.”
Furthermore, Cole’s performance of “I Remember” sparked more reactions online, with one fan joking, “Hell, I want a refund, and I didn’t even go.”
Online reactions from viewers ranged from jokes about being “traumatized” to pointed comments about Cole’s family and personal life. Some users brought her mother, Frankie, into the discussion, referencing her well-documented struggles with substance abuse and invoking the saying that the “apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”
“Still traumatized from Keyshia Cole show in Houston Saturday night,” another user said on X.
“Wtf is going on with Keyshia Cole, honey?!” a third exclaimed.
“Somebody gotta get Keyshia Cole before it’s too late smh,” another said alongside a concerned emoji.
“The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree… pray for #KeyshiaCole ya’ll!” Tasha K told viewers on TikTok.
While the October-born vocalist alluded to simply celebrating her birthday weekend, fans have turned their attention to her rumored rap boo, Skrilla, whom she’s reportedly been dating since July. Some pointed to his admitted battle with drug abuse, fueling speculation about Cole’s performances, though neither has confirmed any connection to substance use.
Cole has not publicly addressed the concerns surrounding her recent performances, and speculation online remains unconfirmed. For now, fans will have to wait for the singer to speak for herself.
