Everything We Know About Rick Ross’ Son’s Attack—And the Petty Reason Why 50 Cent Is Now Involved

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is now involved in the drama surrounding the son of fellow rapper Rick Ross, who was recently assaulted in Florida. But like with most things 50 does, his move is yet another reminder of just how petty he can be.

In case you haven’t seen the headlines, Ross’ son William was pistol-whipped by a man named Don after he confronted him outside Bethune-Cookman University earlier this month, according to police records obtained by PEOPLE. Per the report, Don hopped out of his car with a gun after seeing William conversing with an unidentified woman with whom he had a previous relationship.

After yelling “I don’t care who your daddy is, I’ll kill you right here,” Don allegedly aimed the gun at William before striking him across the head with it, which subsequently caused “minor swelling.” William then got in his car and drove away.

Now, it looks like Don is behind bars after William finally went to the police, filed a report, and identified him in a lineup. He’s now facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, per Billboard. But if 50 Cent has anything to do with it–Don will be out, and this whole thing would get squashed.

And why would we say that, you may ask? Well, it’s because the “Many Men” rapper made it clear through a post on his official Instagram that he’d be willing to send his own personal lawyer and post bail for Don—a petty move that no doubt serves as yet another dig at Ross in their ongoing beef.

“I got him; he will be out tomorrow. I’m sending @drewfindling[his lawyer Andrew Findling]. This is a big misunderstanding that can easily be resolved,” 50 wrote before mentioning his new “Street Fighter” movie. “This was a street fight; I mean STREET FIGHTER is in theaters! LOL.”

However, it didn’t look like 50 needed to step in after all, as Don was later released on a $50,000 bond, though it’s unclear if the funds actually came from 50’s camp or elsewhere. Regardless of whether it did or not, the fact that 50 would insert himself in Ross’ sons’ struggle is lowdown.

As we previously told you, 50’s feud with the “Diced Pineapples” rapper began in 2008, when Ross essentially called 50 irrelevant during a radio interview. The two have since taken small shots at each other over the years, with the most recent one taking place earlier this month after 50 clowned Ross for thinking he was more famous than he was in front of a judge for his separate case.

Prior to that, in July 2025, the MMG rapper took aim at 50’s parenting and estranged relationship with his youngest son. Before that, 50 stirred the pot by implying that Ross was gay and posted a now-deleted clip of Ross on a yacht with a caption suggesting he’d “come out.”

Now, with this new post, it seems as if the issues between the two men are far from being resolved anytime soon.
