Best Moments of the 2026 Met Gala 2026

Best Moments of the 2026 Met Gala 2026

The first Monday in May—also known as Met Gala Monday has officially come and gone. But as you can imagine, there’s still plenty of things for people to talk about the morning after!

As we previously told you, this year’s theme was “Fashion is Art,” to coincide and compliment with The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute’s Spring exhibition, “Costume Art.” As you might expect, there were a whole bunch of hits and if we’re honest, a handful of misses too, on the famous red carpet steps that night.

But in addition to the looks, here are a few other best moments that you may have missed!

Blue Ivy Making Her Grand Debut

Arguably one of the biggest moments of the night was when Blue Ivy Carter popped up and popped at the 2026 Met Gala for the very first time. While everyone was focused on her famous mother showing up after 10 years, it was Blue who no doubt took over the conversations. And rightfully so because the last time we checked, you had to at least be 18 to attend! That rule was established by Anna Wintour herself in 2018. But when it comes to the first family of music and when you’re the eldest daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, the rules don’t apply to you.

Seeing as how the theme was “Fashion Is Art,” it only made sense for Met Gala goers to take on the task of becoming walking personifications of notable art pieces. But by far, the person who did the best job was renowned painter Amy Sherald who not only paid homage to Black art—but she referenced her very own art piece, “Miss Everything Unsuppressed Deliverance.” The piece was done in 2024 and made the cover of March 2025 issue of The New Yorker. How iconic is this? Other stars like Angela Bassett, Jon Batiste and Law Roach also made references to notable Black artists on the carpet too!

Beyoncé Making Her Fabulous Return After 10 Years

Do we really need to explain this one? We haven’t seen Beyoncé on a Met Gala carpet since 2016!! Although she didn’t drop any teasers for her upcoming Act III, we were so glad to see her back.

Rihanna & A$AP Rocky Clowning Inside

While Rihanna and A$AP Rocky shut down the red carpet in their glam “oyster” and “Harlem-pink” vibes, respectively, inside the event—they only had fun on their minds! This was evidenced by a slew of pictures of the famous couple playing around with former supermodel Heidi Klum (yes, that Heidi Klum) and messing with her. We can only imagine the conversations they were having!

It was “One Battle” full of “Heated Rivalry” after Golden Globe winner Teyana Taylor and “Heated Rivalry” star Connor Storrie world’s collided inside the Met Gala. Both the Taylor’s Oscar-winning film “One Battle After Another” and Storrie’s show took over the mainstream all 2025 and the top of 2026, so seeing these two enjoy some serious laughs with each other feels like an amazing crossover of sorts! Maybe we’ll see them collab in the future!
