A Look Inside Taryn Delanie Smith’s Revamped 235-Year-Old Dream Farmhouse

Who says a 235-year-old farmhouse can’t have a little personality? Influencer Taryn Delanie Smith has turned her historic home in New York’s Hudson Valley into a cozy, creative retreat filled with meaningful art, estate sale treasures, DIY projects, and a few furry and feathered friends.

From charming guest rooms to smart ways to make a space feel more personal, every corner in Smith’s home reflects her belief that a home should be a place that’s lived in, not picture-perfect. And with a kitchen renovation in the works, Smith is proving that even a centuries-old home can have plenty of room for a fresh start. Let’s take a look inside!

Smith always wanted a farm, despite her living and building her career in NYC. But now, her dreams have come true, and she’s living them out in this vintage farmhouse in the Hudson Valley, complete with chickens, ducks, and more. Let’s see what’s inside!

The staircase maintains the original wood from all those years ago. What is new, however, is the peel-and-stick wallpaper along with some updated decor items.

When Smith first arrived, this “big living room” lacked crown molding and was painted dark green. Now, it’s light and airy and ready for guests!

Fun fact about the grandfather clock in the corner of the room: it came with the house. One not-so-fun fact is that it doesn’t work. So if you need the time, you’re better off using your phone.

The Fireplace

One of the best features of the living area, no doubt, is the antique artwork above the fireplace. The piece was done by a painter named Dudley Hardy and totally fits with the overall vibe of the home.

The Dining Room

One cool detail about the dining room decor is that it features two different shades of green. The walls are a sage green, while the ceiling is a darker shade.

The Unfinished Kitchen

When Smith got the home, she realized she hated every part of it and is now rebuilding everything from the ground up – including the kitchen.

The Photo Wall

Inspired by a childhood friend, Smith’s “photo wall” along her staircase features various pictures from her wedding to her hubby, Alec Castillo. The pictures are absolutely stunning and filled with love!

The Yellow Room

The guest room, also known as “The Yellow Room,” is one of the first rooms that Smith redid. She tackled renovating this room and the other guest rooms before she started work on her primary bedroom.

The primary bedroom was originally three small rooms. The divots are still noticeable on the floor underneath her rug!

The Sun Room

Though Smith grew up on the West Coast, she was excited at the prospect of having a screened-in sun room. Whether she’s enjoying it solo or cozying up with friends, this spot is always in use.

When you have a beautiful country house with lots of land like Smith, it only makes sense to have a nice pool to go along with it.

Though she has a farm on her property, Smith also has ample green space and room to roam. We don’t know about y’all, but we can see her little ducks roaming out here.
